"I'm BEAT: Empowering Black Women in the Workplace"
When we set out on our journey to address the unique challenges Black women are experiencing, it quickly became evident that our collective experiences were filled with negative encounters that no longer could be ignored. Feeling empowered by faith alone and with an unwavering belief that change was possible - our journey commenced immediately with us taking an assertive stand against injustice against silenced voices who felt powerless themselves. We set forth with unwavering conviction to effect meaningful change for Black women everywhere.
Definition of I'm "BEAT"
When we first started the journey, we referred to BEAT as being Black Educated Annoyed Tired, as we traveled through this journey we realized that we are Black Educated Anointed and Triumphant! Thus, walking through this trail it was evident that many Black women experience multiple forms of oppression throughout the course of a day but that does not diminish their VIBE: Value Integrity Brilliance Excellence--the unique ability we all possess of exuding positive energy that draws others in yet remains oppressed systematically at the same time; so how is such dual reality reconcilable in society at large? The solution lies within its complexity: complexity is our reality as they say.
